With support from the California Arts Council, Meztli Projects and Indigenous Circle of Wellness will provide IndigenARTS & Wellness a project blending Indigenous practices with mental health and wellness support, using Beading Circles, Printmaking, Weaving, Ceramics/Clay, Storytelling, and other art-forms to generate dialogue around intergenerational trauma & resiliency, sexual & gendered violence, systemic violence, art as medicine & a healing tool, to process, reflect and work towards individual & collective wellness.

Books and Beads Womxn’s Group is a book club, talking circle, and beading program that centers the creation of kinship relationships and the exchange of creative/cultural knowledges and practices between Native womxn in an effort to build a decolonial world free from the oppression and violences of colonialism and patriarchy.  It also aims to provide a space where Native womxn have the opportunity to collectively identify and dialogue about a variety of issues that impact their lives.

    Reconnecting with our plant relatives can uplift our spirit and energy. During this workshop, participants will use plants and flowers to create a custom hand-dyed bandana that can be used as a wearable Land Acknowledgment or a new addition to your altar.

    • Essential Oil Beaded Bracelets by Kimberly Robertson
    In this hands-on workshop, participants will bead an aromatherapeutic bracelet and have the opportunity to consider the ways in which cultural activities and natural medicines can combat depression and contribute to overall health and wellness.
